(Ace Combat Fan Fiction) The Tale of Boruto Uzumaki

Let's start up with my own fan-fiction wallpaper I made in 2K. It's a representation of Boruto's life in Ace Combat's Strangereal Edition of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, a fan fiction made by me, Agung Paramtapa (Naruto 607 on Steam and modding websites like GTAInside and LCPDFR). He was known with TAC name "Trigger" in the Osean Air Defense Force, born at a village remote from any city in Osea called Hidden Leaf Village, and was a clan member of Uzumaki, specialized in close-quarters combat (ninja/Shinobi tactics) and aviation. He started walking as an Air Force pilot for Osean Federation with his involvement in Erusea as a part of IUN Peacekeeping Forces.

Background

His birthday was on March 27. Precise year of his birth was unknown. He started his career as a young ninja sent to various regions across Osea with his team, namely the Team 7. The members were not just himself, but there were also Sarada "Húxiān" Uchiha, Mitsuki "Count", and Konohamaru "Fencer" Sarutobi. His life was very much dependent on his teachers, either to get strong to fight his enemies, or to master his robustness in avionics. His training finally paid off with his battle experiences. He has control of his curse mark as the time goes on.

Reaching 16 years old, he fought against Kawaki at a destroyed village of his, returning to seek justice of unfair balance from the corrupt government. Boruto's family and the villagers went missing, and he was the only one on the scene to deal against Kawaki. Later on, the fight was won by Boruto.

Seeing that his village was completely destroyed beyond repair, and villagers have been scattered around and lived in various cities and villages across Osea, he decided to leave that place for good. He then enlisted as an Air Force pilot at the Air Force Academy close to Oured, the capital city of Osea. He spent 1 year training in flight simulator and 2 years training in actual planes.

The Involvement in Erusea

His first mission in Erusea was codenamed "Operation Deer Horn" (the first mission in Ace Combat 7). He got his chance to be in an actual combat against enemies that posed a threat to national security. His callsign was Mage 2 and became a squadron leader but supervised by Wario "Clown", callsign Mage 1. Wario was a man of excellence in his time, and he always was very strict to his wingman, and Boruto was no exception, despite his skills have shown the squadrons that he's capable.

Framed at the wrong moment

"Operation Lighthouse Keeper" was where Boruto blamed for shooting down Mother Goose One, mistaking someone's missile fire as "originated from Mage 2".

"It was Osean. A friendly missile hit him," one of the pilots said

Before the AWACS can confirm its validity, other pilots have already believed that Boruto fired a missile against the former Osean President Vincent Harling. Failing that mission made a severe blow on Boruto's acts in the world, and that made him lost his wings to fly in the skies for the country. At that rate, he lost his desire of flying for the government.

444th Fighter Squadron "Spare"

"That missile was not from me! I was blamed!" said Boruto at the court martial

Despite his defense, he was found guilty on a charge, where he shoot down Mother Goose One at previous operation. Expelled from the Air Force and sent in prison, he had no choice. He wished that he should be home with his family instead of flying for his country. However, neither his mother, Hinata Hyuga, nor his daughter, Himawari Uzumaki, was never to be found.

In his punishment, he joined the 444th Fighter Squadron "Spare" and served in a military as an unofficial fighter squadron that consists of convicts capable of flying fighter jets. Mitsuki "Count" from North Osea and Inojin "Tabloid" Yamanaka from Belka were among them.

"Operation High Card" was his first mission in that fighter squadron. His plane has three scratches on its tail wing, earning the nickname "The Three Strikes". "The Three Strikes" resembled much of his deceased father, Naruto Uzumaki, who his face has 3 stripes on his cheek, resembling whiskers from a cat. Unlike him, Boruto and Himawari have two stripes on their cheeks.

In his entire life as a convict, he tried to gain attention by destroying Erusean forces as instructed, making him a killing machine similar to Mobius 1.

Mihaly and Boruto

Mihaly A. Shilage, the Erusean ace pilot, a test pilot for EASA - Sol Squadron, found a worthy adversary: Boruto Uzumaki, who was doing his mission in "Operation Two Pairs". He was doing his job fine until Bandog ordered him (Trigger) and Tabloid to attack Mihaly and his squadron, which were flying Su-30s. Mihaly flew in a modified Su-30SM, which the back seat has been reserved for flight data recorder used as a test bed for Schroeder's UAV project.

Boruto himself was delighted to fight against Mihaly in that "one-on-one dogfight", despite he didn't have a chance to shoot him down personally. He knew that he has fighting limitations; he cannot push his fighter jet that rejuvenated by Avril Mead from a scrap metal to his combat potential. Otherwise his plane will rip apart and he had no chance to bail out from the plane.

People believed that Boruto wasn't the culprit; it was someone else

Colonel McKinsey said to Boruto, "The General Staff Office seemed to be having impression that you didn't kill Harling, Trigger. The court at destination will reopen your case."

McKinsey saying that to Boruto made him excited to hear that what he said in his first day at a prison was right. It wasn't his missile that killed Harling, but someone else's. He was silent all the time and just listened to his rambling airbase commander that moved from Zapland to Bulgudarest in the continent of Usea. But then again, all in his mind was an excitement and joy after he said that.
"Watch me, dad. I will become the best fighter pilot in the entire Osea," said Boruto in his heart

That event was an escort operation dubbed "Operation Full House", where Boruto and Mitsuki escorted Colonel McKinsey to a new destination for transfer commands and having two of them attend a court martial for a hearing. Before the Cyclops Squadron appeared, they encountered a loose prototype aircraft and Boruto single-handedly destroyed it.

Transition, New Look, and Future Hopes

The transition made him received a warm welcome in the military once again, but not as a peacekeeper for IUN. Fresh new planes have been sent and he can use it to par with his combat potential. A distinctive change was made to the tail wing of his plane, though. Since he earned the nickname "The Three Strikes" when he and Mitsuki were in 444th Fighter Squadron, he became used to it and resemble his nickname as a cat that scratches a wall with three fingers. And it was a coincidence that he paired up with Sarada and Konohamaru in two different squadrons that blend into one as a tactical group named "Long Range Strategic Strike Group", shortened as LRSSG.

Mitsuki told to Boruto that he didn't know him. Orochimaru at North Osea has made a mind wipe on his brain to prevent further damage to his brain that processes too many logical memories. He was destined for something else, not making Boruto as "a sun" for him, but following who's going to be a hero. Perhaps, Mitsuki found who he was hoping for.

With his arrival in the military, he got his wings back and he was ready to fight for his motherland and his long gone village, the Hidden Leaf Village.

LRSSG and Boruto

Boruto led the 124th Tactical Fighter Squadron "Strider" with callsign Strider 1. Iwabe "Skald" Yuino and Denki "Lanza" Kaminarimon think differently of him leading a fighter squadron after got out of prison. However, at the end of the mission, both of them admire Boruto for his skill that he already achieved when he was in prison. He was a killing machine like Mobius 1, but AWACS called him as "hamburger griller".

"Operation Siren's Song" was where LRSSG elements, Cyclops and Strider Squadrons, sent to destroy the Njord fleet at Snider's Top, crippling the Erusean naval power and preventing them to attack Osean ground forces via artillery and airstrike.

The journey of Boruto from zero to hero begins at this point.

Alicorn, Mimic Squadron, and Boruto (DLC Mission of Ace Combat 7)

HMS Alicorn has been a topic in the military for its possession of a nuclear arsenal in Erusea, and Osean government decided to take action before the war in the continent of Usea turned into a Nuclear War.

First step of operation is to capture the submarine and subdue the commander and vice commander (XO, or Command Duty Officer) in "Operation Sighthound".

Plans have been going smoothly until two unknown fighter jets from Osea shoot down an Erusean plane. NCTR system detected them as hostile, and two of them have been aiming to assassinate Boruto Uzumaki and no one else. They have TAC names "Rage" and "Scream". Despite that, he regained control over air superiority with his friends. He asked to himself why they wanted his head, and hearing them talking about hero and stuff, it made clear that they wanted his head only to make themselves popular and receive a hero's welcome at their motherland. However, he didn't say anything about that in debriefing.

Then, all his answers paid off with Brigadier General Clemens messed up his "act" as a treason ("Operation Domino"). Clemens ordered Strider Squadron to destroy everything at Anchorhead Bay, rendering the port useless. However, it was a distraction for HMS Alicorn at the end of the mission to load up neutron bombs that OIA (an equivalent to CIA in real life) dubbed as "tactical nuclear shells" instead of SLBM (submarine-launched ballistic missile). Those nuclear shells were then loaded into a railgun and then launched from a distance extremely safe from nuclear detonation.

Boruto said that "Rage" and "Scream" were two worthy adversaries beside the test pilot from Sol Squadron, Mihaly A. Shilage. They have excellent teamwork and guts, to say the least, but it was a pity that teamwork and guts alone won't be enough to kill Boruto.

The climax of HMS Alicorn and Boruto was at "Operation Fisherman". All elements of LRSSG except Wiseman and Fencer have been ordered to destroy the aircraft-carrying, nuclear ballistic missile submarine named Alicorn from attacking Oured using a nuclear shell that loaded into a nuclear-powered railgun. Operation completed with no survivors from the destroyed and sinking submarine.

Boruto was not surprised that he and his squadron have to wait 32 hours until the next mission, of which then, Osea commenced an operation to capture Farbanti, the capital city of Erusea. But then again, that amount of hour was suffice to have a rest and trained his Shinobi combat skills for a while.

Mihaly's Gambit

At the last leg of "Operation Giant's Step", Mihaly A. Shilage and his entire Sol Squadron appeared to fight against Osean forces in Farbanti and LRSSG that a test pilot named Wit dubbed them as "the snowbirds". Boruto got a chance to spar with Mihaly for the second time.

Ferociously like Tom and Jerry, Boruto gave everything he got on Mihaly, pounding missile by missile and bullet by bullet to shoot down his Su-30SM that he was piloting. The battle between LRSSG and Sol Squadron took casualties. Konohamaru "Fencer" Sarutobi ejected from his F-15C safely after his plane took a hit from Mihaly's missile, but Wiseman didn't make it; his plane engulfed in flames and blew up in midair after Mihaly's missile struck on his plane. Mihaly's plane took damage, but he survived and escaped the combat shortly after receiving information that most navigational, tracking, and IFF systems were offline. They noticed something on the skies, about the destruction of satellites used to coordinate forces into the battle. Their hunches were right in the debriefing.

The Last of Mihaly and Boruto

It wasn't the end of Boruto's story after he won the fight against Mihaly in "Operation Beehive". After two operations that helped two opposing forces to stabilize, LRSSG ran into a problem: supplies scarcity. An action was taken to obtain supplies at what was once the Shilage territory in order to ensure survival. Boruto described it as "a war with no regrets".

Boruto described Mihaly's new plane, the X-02S "Strike Wyvern", as himself using a Modern/Scientific Ninja Tool to cheat in Chunin Exam. It was not ordinary for him to fight against Mihaly in a new plane developed by an aeronautics company in Erusea, and fighting him made Boruto devised his strategy. "That plane was shooting hyper-speed projectiles, just like how I use projectile-bending shurikens when I used that tool from Katasuke," he said. He will never forget what happened when he was sparring with Mihaly. The railgun mounted on X-02S was a superbly dangerous threat for him and Osea if it ever used in an actual combat.

Gaining superiority over the Space Elevator

Every war has its ending. And the Lighthouse War is no exception. After receiving encrypted transmission from Avril "Scrap Queen" Mead, Metal Lee "Jaeger" decided that to end this war, Osea and conservationists from Erusea have to go to the source of the war: the Space Elevator. Refugees have flocked at the base of the elevator and were fighting against the government that were defending it. Few operations before have knocked down one of the Arsenal Birds, and in "Operation Daredevil", they targeted the second one and put it into rest for good.

Erusean conservationists, as well as half of Sol Squadron minus Mihaly joined the battle against their government and attempted to take back control of the Space Elevator with Osean forces. Though Boruto has a desire to shoot down Wit and Seymour like Mitsuki, he decided not to after understanding the situation. They wanted to help, after all.

The last battle between Boruto and Hugin and Munin, two ADF-11F "Raven" drones, took place after the second Arsenal Bird has been shot down. Boruto decided that, when the war was over, he decided to continue his journey as a civilian pilot, going cross-country and seeking for people's help whenever needed.

The operation to shoot down those two UAVs was dubbed "Operation Hush". The goal was to prevent two of those drones waiting until the Space Elevator restored its power and send their flight data to all drone manufacturing plants across the continent of Usea, turning the war into a war against machines. One of the drones that Boruto shot down was used to observe his flying style, and he managed to shoot it down before his flying style was leaked to the drone manufacturing plants.

The second one tried to send its data from under the elevator, using data repeaters and the restored elevator power, and he shot it down with Mitsuki following behind him. He didn't get out of the elevator, but he successfully made an emergency landing after his plane was damaged.

At the end of the war, peace was restored, and everything went back to normal. People lived happily ever after.

Boruto, having him and the squadron returned to Osea, has gone separate ways. He handed his chain of command to Mitsuki, who helped him most of the time in difficult times. He said that he cannot succeed without him. And then, he filed his report to the commanding officer in Oured to assign his withdrawal from his active military service in search of his mom and daughter, and started his journey as a civilian, flying cross-country with his favorite plane, the Cessna 172 or an iconic F-104C Starfighter with an excellent decoration of his own pinup.

Since then, he was never seen again.

Corporate War in Usea

Year 2040. General Resource Ltd., a multinational company, made the whole country in the continent of Usea joined. Everything is modernized, including in aviation industry. There was not much to expect for a company to occupy the whole continent, but what's worse, Neucom Inc. has started appearing to compete in a market, not just in aviation industry, but in every aspect like outer space and advanced science/research.

Boruto was the one to witness the massive changes of the continent of Usea, which was not controlled by a nation, but companies. Erusea was no more on the map, and there were only territories of General Resource Ltd. and Neucom Inc.

He received an encrypted message, coming from one unknown man named Simon in Neucom territory. He headed there. Everything was ordinary as a start, like helping carry stuff here and there, but then, he became suspicious of Simon. The tools he carried for Simon was intended to transfer one's soul and mind into electrodes that can roam in the wide virtual world, which was named Electrosphere at that time. He didn't know that his flying style he used in his time during the Lighthouse War can work if used in Electrosphere, so he decided to give it a try. "This doesn't sting a lot, does it?" he asked, and Simon said that it didn't.

Simon then dubbed Boruto Uzumaki and the project he worked on as Project Nemo, an AI development program issued by Neucom under his authority. His body was cremated soon after, but his mind and soul have been used as an AI system to learn an event of how to end the life of an already corrupt and cheating Captain Abyssal Dision from General Resources Defense Force. He secretly made his way in to UPEO and posed as a member of the UPEO's air force division. His story in a corporate war as an ace of Lighthouse War in a form of computer systems began after Neucom and General Resource went into war.

However, he has irrational thoughts, considering the fact that he once defeated Momoshiki in an alternate world, and made Boruto a "vessel" (um... "carrier?") for Momoshiki. Everything he do in Electrosphere will be complained by Momoshiki in his subconsciousness, even though he doesn't have a body.

The end (or is it?)

Same like my other short stories, the fan-fiction I made is for fun, considering what I made is representing the project I worked on for skin mods of Ace Combat 7 on PC (Steam). Years into corporate war in Strangereal timeline is quite a long time to begin with. The year of that war was 2019. And you have to wait 24 years for the corporate war or the events of Ace Combat 3 to be happened.

I'm sure some of you readers have different ways to explain or made a fan-fiction about the story of Ace Combat. I heard that there's also a guy who made a fan fiction that depict something like this, but the protagonist "Trigger" was named Naomi Foulke.

Long story short, Naruto/Boruto, aviation, and modern warfare inspired me in doing weird stories of modern warfare and/or aviation that is Naruto- or Boruto-themed. Don't ask why I'm doing this; there are plenty of fan-fiction stories that are not just like this one that's one theme with an anime and a game. One Piece with Pirates of Caribbean? Bleach with Detective Conan? Or Attack on Titans with Rise of Kingdoms? Who knows.

Anyway, if you like this, you can try out the skin mods I made for Ace Combat 7. Links are at the beginning of this writing. Thanks for reading.
